1. About Mupa
Mupa is a pregnancy companion app offering general maternal-health guidance and, optionally, paid remote consultations with independent health professionals. These Terms are between you and the team operating Mupa (“we”, “us”). We are in the process of finalising Mupa's formal company registration in Nepal; these Terms will be updated to name that registered entity once registration is complete. By creating an account or using Mupa, you agree to these Terms.
2. Who can use Mupa
Mupa is for use by pregnant or postpartum individuals (or someone supporting them) who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly offer accounts to anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using Mupa, contact us so we can act.
3. Not a substitute for medical care
Information in Mupa — including weekly guidance, nutrition, exercise and reminders — is for general education only. It is not a medical diagnosis and does not replace care from your doctor or health worker. Always follow the advice of your own health provider. See our Medical Disclaimer for more detail.
4. Consultations with doctors
Consultations connect you with independent health professionals for remote guidance. They are not a physical examination and cannot replace an in-person visit when one is needed. A doctor may decline to advise remotely and ask you to visit a facility instead. Before your first consultation, you'll be asked to confirm you understand and accept our Telehealth Consent, which explains how these consultations work in more detail. Doctors are responsible for the professional advice they give; Mupa operates the platform that connects you but does not itself practise medicine.
5. Payments, plans and refunds
Paid consultations and plans are priced in Nepali Rupees (NPR) and charged through approved payment providers (currently eSewa and Khalti). Refund and cancellation terms — including the 24-hour response window for consultations — are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Community content
If Mupa offers a community or story-sharing feature, anything you post there is visible to other users and is not medical advice — it reflects other users' personal experiences. Posting there is governed by our Community Guidelines, which forms part of these Terms. We may review, hide, or remove content, and may suspend accounts that violate those guidelines.
7. Emergencies
Mupa and its chat feature are NOT for emergencies. If you have danger signs such as heavy bleeding, severe headache, convulsions, or your baby is not moving, call an ambulance (102) or go to the nearest health facility immediately. Do not wait for a reply in the app.
8. Your responsibilities
Provide accurate information, use the app for lawful personal purposes, and keep your login secure. Do not misuse the consultation or community features, and do not share another person's medical or personal data (including an emergency contact's details) without their permission. You're responsible for having that permission before you add someone as an emergency contact.
9. Intellectual property
Mupa's app, content, weekly guidance and trademarks belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own maternal-health needs. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute our content without permission.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that misuses the platform, provides fraudulent information, or breaches these Terms. You may stop using Mupa at any time and request deletion of your account and data from Profile → “Delete my data & start over”, or by contacting us directly.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Nepali law, Mupa is provided “as is”. We work to keep our content accurate and our platform reliable, but we do not guarantee any particular health outcome, and we are not liable for the independent professional advice given by a consulting doctor. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for gross negligence or wilful misconduct. 12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly; unresolved disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nepal. [Placeholder — confirm venue/arbitration approach with legal counsel.]
13. Related policies
These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy, Medical Disclaimer, Telehealth Consent, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and Community Guidelines, all available in the app under Profile → Legal.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Significant changes may require you to accept again.
